Birthday Weekends ROCK! It Started out with a shopping spree . New shoes, jeans that fit, a sexy new  top, new lingerie and a sparkly chain belt.. Then Kids got some granparent-time while we Headed out on a hot Harley for some Freeport fun on a Saturday night..Just me and my cute guy and a romantic stroll down the Nautical mile and Seafood on the dock of some restaurant that served me a Giant Crown Royal, water on the rocks....with a straw! Don't remember much more than an awesome ride on the Ocean Parkway with my arms wrapped around my favorite man.  Felt free and light as the wind kissed all over, under the night-sky goddess, Nut. The next day was all about Recovering in my Rose Garden eating wild raspberries.. Planning my own party the next day was trickier. Determined to not feel like an endless string of errands with 3 children, (which it WAS) I wore a glittery tiara all day. I highly reccommend it . Yeah, I Got some smirky looks f...

You already know and believe in the power of women to birth their babies in an empowering environment. You help to create this environment through your important role as a doula or birth educator . But what happens when you are a part of a birth that "goes wrong", or off the birth plan? What happens when your client is unhappy with her "performance" or her experience? Guilt, fear, disappointment, shame, blame, feelings of ineffectiveness, old memories of your own birth, can all resurface and create all kinds of problems . This is a big deal...Because this is your heart-work . This hits home in a personal way. We carry these experiences forward into the next birth experience. We carry these experiences into our home life, our marriages..our effectiveness as birth practitioners.  The Sun and Moon are both in Saggitarius right now, a fire sign that likes to EXPAND everything.  But we need to work with that Fiery Energy by FOCUSING on the wonderful things that we want to expand ...instead of indulging fear and overwhelm and magnifying that drama. Delightful Apple Pie! Step One : Get on your Motorcycle and head out to the local orchard on a picture perfect day. Make sure to fill your sidecar w/as many Competent pickers as you can comfortably manage. Step 2 : Get your team on board for tasting and picking the best apples. Step 3 :get them home and wash them well..(the apples & the kids) Step 4 : make some Awesome Apple pie Filling for 1 pie Cut up 5-8  apples (depending on size) we used; mcCoun, gala, and honeycrisp Saute in a large skillet w/ 3-4 tbsp butter Add 1/2 cup sugar Add some shakes of cinnamon.. Keep shuffling those apples around until they are so fragrant you must taste it (around 7 minutes).. It's probably done. Step 5 : Pour it out of the skillet on to a cookie sheet to cool to room temperature. What you've got is the perfect consistancy now for ( Step 6 )pouring into your favorite double pie crust. Or on top of ice cream, or inside pastry puffs, or on your oatmeal. Anyway.....
